MATLAB

MATLAB is a very popular high level programming language developed by MathWorks.
There's a lot of stuff that MATLAB is capable of doing. For an electronics or an electrical engineer, this programming language (with its powerful user interface) can be programmed for generating the waveform and analyzing complex signals. In short, it's capable of analog and digital signal processing. It is a very powerful software tool that makes projects, researches in this field easier.

Quantum teleportation

I came across this news today,  decided to pass it on. Researchers have now been able to teleport information through 100km inside an optical fibre. Previously, they were successful with teleporting quantum information through 25km inside the fibre. This teleportation isn't suggesting actual object or human teleportation though! It just carries information within the network, a lot faster than it's capabilities today. Our networks are dependent on multiplexers which convert a low strength signal to high strength signal, so it can travel a greater distance. What this research is capable of achieving is that the information will have it's strength increased by what's called as a quantum multiplexer, which is very fast and more reliable. So, now the data will be safer, faster and efficiency will be greater. It's definitely gonna take up a lot of time to set up an entire quantum network, but the wait is worth it!

Microchips

I was recently asked to put some info on microchips. So, here it is.
Microchips are basically just Integrated circuits. An example of an integrated circuit is an IC7404, which is a simple NOT gate. (What a NOT gate does is, it inverts the input. In simple words, it converts the input to it's complement. So, if the input is one, the output is zero)
Now, in an IC7404, there are 6 not gates embedded inside one chip. Which means, one can use a single chip to perform 'not' function on 6 inputs.

The Shock wave incident

There was an accident recently, where one wheel of an SUV burst. The accident resulted in the car going offtrack and crashing another vehicle on the other side. A wheel burst is an example of a shock wave. It's basically a wave which is faster than the speed of sound and is capable of producing high temperatures and can be used to generate nano particles (just laying a foundation on the topic). Anyway, the car went offtrack mainly because of the wave caused by the wheel burst. The car was speeding, by the way, which caused the 'going offtrack' thing intense.

Was going through my physics book today, found this interesting- Maglev Vehicles.
 Maglev is short for Magnetically Levitated. These are vehicles which travel at very good speeds by avoiding friction.
